Regenerative Endodontics

Regenerative endodontics is an advanced treatment approach designed to encourage continued root development and healing in immature teeth with damaged or infected pulp tissue.

When Regenerative Treatment Is Used

This technique is most commonly used in younger patients whose teeth have not fully developed. Traditional root canal treatment may not be ideal in these situations, as immature roots are thinner and more fragile.

Regenerative endodontic procedures may be considered when:

  • A young permanent tooth has pulp damage or infection

  • Root development is incomplete

  • Preserving natural tooth structure is especially important

How Regenerative Endodontics Works

Rather than removing all tissue from the tooth, regenerative treatment aims to create an environment that supports healing and continued root development. This process encourages the body’s natural healing response and helps strengthen the tooth over time. Treatment protocols are carefully selected based on each patient’s age, tooth development, and clinical findings

Benefits and Long-Term Goals

The goal of regenerative endodontics is to support ongoing root maturation, improve tooth strength, and enhance long-term survival of the natural tooth. While not appropriate for every case, this approach represents an important advancement in modern endodontic care.

Regenerative endodontic treatment reflects our commitment to preserving natural teeth and supporting healthy development whenever possible.
